TDY is assisting with the recruitment of qualified applicants for Development Associate for Epilepsy Foundation Eastern PA (EFEPA).  The hiring authority is EFEPA President/CEO.

Founded in 1972, Epilepsy Foundation Eastern PA (EFEPA) meets the non-medical needs of individuals affected by epilepsy/ seizure disorder to enhance lives and build supportive communities. As we continue to expand our impact in Greater Philadelphia and surrounding communities, we are seeking a Development Associate to ensure that our development team maximizes the opportunity for growth.
The Development Associate, who reports to the Development Director, is responsible for providing event, marketing, media and development support across the organization. Candidate must plan and execute many fundraising events throughout the year including a black-tie gala, non-competitive walk and golf outing. The ideal candidate will be creative, enthusiastic, articulate, and forward thinking.
Marketing, Communications & Media
  • Manage social media presence for all locations across the organization.
  • Writing, editing and coordinating mailings to funders, including sponsorship requests and thank you letters.
  • Contributing to e-newsletters and annual report.
  • Support creative artwork for all materials and web development.
  • Update EFEPA website on a timely basis.
  • Assisting in the creation of compelling fundraising communications including an Annual Appeal.
Event Support
  • Work with Development Team to provide support as needed for all events.
  • Provide support for event material design and content such as invitations, program, save the date etc.
  • Secure donations for events including raffles, auction items, food and beverages, and give-a-ways.
  • Coordinating and executing event logistics, ensuring collaboration amongst the Staff and volunteers.
  • Recruit and orient event volunteers.
  • Manage, cultivate, and promote third party fundraisers.
  • Other event support as assigned.
 
 
Grant & Development Support
  • Editing and compiling proposals and reports for foundation and corporate grants.
  • Writing, editing and coordinating mailings to funders, including sponsorship requests and thank you letters.
  • Update and ensure accuracy of contact information and records in Salesforce on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide support for fundraising initiatives and projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior fundraising and communications experience preferred
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to multi-task accompanied by a spirit of flexibility and positive outlook
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong creative thinking and analytical skills
  • The ability to relate to, communicate well with and be respectful of people from all walks of life
  • Strong sense of responsibility, initiative and follow through
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and basic HTML are preferred
  • Must have driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
  • Evenings and/or weekends as needed
