This is a CONTRACT position. 

TDY does extensive background checks, reference checks as a condition of employment. Our client is looking for a Psychiatrist for 6 months to 1 yr placement.  The outpatient clinics of Behavioral Health and Sciences (BH&S) Care Line are generally open

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 08:00 am to 04:30 pm excluding recognized Federal Holidays. Due to expanding clinical needs there are some evening and weekend hours at some locations.  This will primarily be in Philadelphia at the VA, however depending on needs, might be required to work shifts at suburban outpatient clinics. 

Qualifications are BE or BC, hold an active state license (any state will suffice), current DEA, and updated BLS.
Contract Physicians shall be 1) Board Certified or 2) Board Eligible 3) and have current certification in Basic Life Support and is required.

May operate with a license in any state, territory or commonwealth in the United States. The provider shall hold a Doctor of Medicine (or DO) Degree from an accredited college or university approved by the Department of Education.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Contract physician(s) (as appropriate and within scope of practice/privileging) shall be responsible for providing Psychiatry care, including, but not limited to:
• Follow-up on Psychiatry Issues
• In-patient Psychiatry Consults
• Out-patient Psychiatry Consults
Administrative: No more than 10% of time not involved in direct patient care.
The contract physician (s) shall participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation
The contract physician (s) shall attend staff meetings as required

The Physician(s) on duty will determine appropriate treatment and/or disposition, and determine whether specialty consultation or admission to the hospital is necessary. When admission is indicated, the Physician(s) on duty will notify the appropriate admitting (in-house) Attending Physician of the patient and their condition/status.

The contract physician will be required to enter all notes, request diagnostic tests, consultative requests, order medications and resulting reports into the computerized patient record system (CPRS) on the day of the visit. In the event of computer system failure, the physician must maintain sufficient written or typed information to allow for entry in CPRS at a later time. Documentation is expected to meet medical center policies/Clinical Practice Guideline and Joint Commission/HCFA standards for documentation and subsequent coding. The physician needs a strong working knowledge of computers/skills to access the computerized patient record system (CPRS) utilized by the client. CPRS orientation will be provided to the new provider, but this training cannot compensate for limited exposure to computers and poor data entry skills.
