Court Reporter - Phoenix

TDY Medical Staffing, Inc. is currently looking for well qualified court reporters for short term assignments in the Phoenix area.
Working hours will take place Monday through Friday for a total not to exceed 8 hours per day, or 40 hours per week. Daily working hours are between 8am to 4:30pm with a 30 minute lunch.

Must have no less than a high school diploma
STRONG computer skills are required and must show on resume
Must be able to work independently.

Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees at varying grade levels; and to
provide optimal customer service; to both internal and external customers.
Employees will also perform duties related to the work of this position, as assigned, such as but not limited to:
Must have at least 1 year experience as a court reporter and have machine shorthand speed of no less than 225 words per minute with 95% accuracy. RPR & CRR preferred or comparable state certification. Must provide stenotype machine, printer, laptop/computer, peripherals and computer-aided transcription software, along with supplies needed to produce transcripts. Must have proficient English technical vocabulary and the ability to efficiently decipher various English accents. Have basic knowledge of orderly filing, indexing and daily backing up of electronic/steno notes. Ability to communicate, express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and excellent proofreading skills. Have the ability to exercise a high degree of judgment, demonstrate diplomacy and exemplify competence interacting with judges, magistrates, attorneys, public officials, litigants, co-workers and the general public.
